🌐 Hiring Internationally

How we engage candidates depending on their country of residence. Covers the two contracting paths we use internationally, and which countries each applies to.

How and Where We Hire Internationally

ℹ️

This page covers everything you need to know about how we engage talent globally β€” contract types, country coverage, blocked regions, and what to expect once an offer is accepted.

🌍 Types of Contracts for International Hiring

We use Deel (deel.com) as our global hiring platform, allowing us to engage top talent in over 160 countries without requiring a local legal entity in every market.

Depending on the country, we can engage candidates in one of two ways:

EOR β€” Employer of Record
Deel employs the candidate on our behalf. We cover employer social security contributions and statutory benefits as required by local law. Best for candidates who want or require local employment status.

B2B β€” Contractor ➑️ Preferred
The candidate operates as an independent contractor or through their own legal entity. No employer social security cost on our side. Best for candidates who are set up to work this way and where local regulations allow it.

Our preference by default is B2B. Where costs are low or negligible, EOR or B2B are both viable.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Our Hiring Preferences by Country

The interactive table below shows every country where Deel operates, the type of contracts available, the employer social security cost, and our hiring preference for each.

You can:

  • πŸ” Search by country name
  • πŸ”½ Filter by coverage type (EOR + Contractors / Contractors Only / EOR Only)
  • πŸ”½ Filter by our preference (B2B Only / EOR or B2B / EOR)

❌ Quick Reference β€” Blocked Countries

Deel explicitly cannot operate in the following regions. Do not submit candidates based in these locations:

🚫

Afghanistan Β· Belarus Β· Cuba Β· Crimea (Ukraine) Β· Democratic Republic of Congo Β· Donetsk PR (Ukraine) Β· Iran Β· Iraq Β· Kherson Oblast (Ukraine) Β· Libya Β· Luhansk PR (Ukraine) Β· Myanmar Β· North Korea Β· Russia Β· Somalia Β· South Sudan Β· Sudan Β· Syria Β· Yemen Β· Zaporizhzhia Oblast (Ukraine)

If a candidate is based in one of these regions, please flag it to your TA contact before investing time in the process.

‼️ Special Cases

  • Malta: We have our own legal entity in Malta, so we operate EOR only through our own internal structure rather than a Deel EOR.

➑️ What You Need to Know

Salary currency
Candidates can receive payment in their local currency or USD/EUR, depending on their contract type and location. Confirm currency preference during screening and include it in the submission form β€” it helps us move faster at offer stage.

Contract and onboarding
Agencies are not involved in the contract or Deel setup. Once an offer is accepted, our TA and HR teams handle everything directly with the candidate through Deel. Typical onboarding setup takes 3–5 business days, so please set expectations with candidates accordingly β€” same-week starts are rarely possible.

Right to work
Always confirm a candidate's right to work and visa status before submission. Deel handles compliance in-country, but if a candidate requires sponsorship or has restrictions, flag it to your TA contact early.

🚫

For clarity: usually, we do not sponsor visas.
